何を隠そう私は中学生の頃からビートルズが好きです。だから、東芝EMIから配布されていたビートルズのディスコグラフィーを単語帳のように暗記してました。このページでは日本と海外のテクノポップ、エレポップ＆ニュー・ウェイヴのアーティスト達のビートルズ（メンバーのソロも含む）のカヴァー・ソングを特集してみました。結構数があると思うので、抜けているものも多いと思います。ご存じの方はメールください。音楽之友社の『ビートルズのフォロワーたち〜Beatle Vibrations』を参考にさせて頂きました。
To tell the truth, I like the Beatles since
my junior high school days. I memorized the
Beatles Discography distributed by Toshiba
EMI like a wordbool. This pages features
Beatles (including solos by each member)
cover songs by Japanese and Overseas techno
pop, electro pop & new wave artists.
As Beatles songs are covered by many, there
should be many missing. If you know any,
please mail to me. I used "Beatles Vibrations" by ON Books as reference.

＜サトル特派員＞YMO第四のメンバーと言われた松武秀樹氏が'80年後期に、松本
隆、入江 準、両氏と組んだユニットです。音楽雑誌で「昔のテレビ番組のテーマ曲をカバーしたアルバム『TV』を発表している。」というのを読んで探してみましたが店にはなく、後に『air-con』というアルバムを見つけました。このアルバムはロック・ポップスのカバー集でした。その中で「Ticket
To Ride」を取り上げています。
<Correspondent Satoru> This is a unit which Mr. Hideki Matsutake
known as the 4th member of YMO formed with
Messrs. Takashi Matsumoto and Jun Irie. Initially
I was not able to find it though I read that
the album "TV" which covered old
TV theme songs. Later, I found the album
"air-con". This album covered Rock
and Pops including "Ticket To Ride".

＜サトル特派員＞細野晴臣氏と野中英紀氏の F.O.E. 名義で「Dear
Prudence」をカバーしています。カバーというより、ショーン・レノンのバックを
F.O.E. が務めたと云うべきかもしれませんが。野中氏は「Love
'90」にもプロデューサーとして関わっており、かなりアグレッシヴなアレンジに仕上げています（唄が
Yoko Ono だし）。2曲目は佐野元春氏のオリジナルで、自身のアルバム「Sweet
16」（1992）にも収録されています。で3曲目、ヴォーカルはショーン・レノン、サウンドは少しインド・テイスト入ってます。
<Correspondent Satoru> F.O.E. by Mr. Haruomi Hosono and Mr. Hideki Nonaka
covered "Dear Prudence". It may
be more like Sean Lennon supported by F.O.E
rather than the cover. Mr. Nonaka was involved
with "Love '90" as a producer,
and it was arranged in a very aggressive
fashion (as it was sung by Yoko Ono). The
second track is the original by Mr. Motoharu
Sano, and it was contained in his album "Sweet
16" (1992). The third track was sung
by Sean Lennon with Indian taste sound.

厳密にはビートルズ・カヴァーではありませんが、ロング・ヴァケショーンの中野氏はジョンの『イマジン』のテクノ・ポップ的カヴァーをしました。
Mr. Nakano of Les Long Vacation did a techno
cover of John's "Imagine" while
it is not a cover of the Beatles strictly
speaking.

ムーンライダーズの唯一のビートルズのカヴァー。ビートルズ・トリビュート・アルバム『Love
Me Do』及び『Keiichi Suzuki Sings Moonriders』に収録。
This is the only cover of the Beatles by
Moonriders. It is contained in the tribute
album to the Beatles "Love Me Do"
and "Keiichi Suzuki Sings Moonriders".

ロン・ウッドと共作したジョージのソロ曲です。
This is a solo work by George with Ron Wood.

DAYS A WEEK」につながります。

This is a House-styled cover by the unit
of Hajime Okano (Pink) and Zin Yoshida (Salon
Music).

＜funx4氏＞高橋幸宏氏の『What,Me Worry?』のラストを飾るGeorge
Harrison作品。幸宏氏のカヴァーにはイイ物が多いのですが、このカヴァーも素晴らしいです。勿論、ＹＭＯの渦中の時代のものですからテクノ・ビートルズになってます。

まず最初に思い浮かぶビートルズのテクノポップ的カヴァーと言えば、これですね。実に名カヴァーです。
The first thing that comes to everyone's
mind as techno pop cover of the Beatles is

＜サトル特派員からの情報＞B.E.F.のシングル「I Don't Know Why I Love
You (But I Love You) featuring Green Gartside」の2曲目。アルバム「ポップス黄金狂時代
Vol.II」未収録です。Bestにも入っていません。フィーチャリングは、Billy
Preston。4曲目の「ファミリー・アフェア」のオリジナルのスライ＆ファミリーストーン版でエレクトリック・ピアノを弾いていた人らしいです。（ややこしいなぁ）かなり、ファンキーなアレンジでした。

contained in the album "Music Of Quality
And Distinction Volume 2" or their best
compilation. It features Billy Preston. He
was playing an electic piano in the original
version by Sly & Family Stone in the
4th track "Family Affair". Quite
funky arrangment.

＜サトル特派員＞この「lb」というアーティスト、私は全然素性を知らないのですが、CDシングルを1枚持っています。BEATLESQUE & YMO-ESQUEのネタになりそうな選曲（カバーしかやってないのか）です。オリジナルの雰囲気を残しつつ、壊れかけのロボットが奏でる電子音とヴォコーダーで80年代を再現している、といったところでしょうか？アルバムもリリースしているようです（現物は未確認）。
<Correspondent Satoru> I do not know who the hell this "ib"
comes from at all, but I have one single
CD. It selects the materials for BEATLESQUE
and YMO-ESQUE (covers only). While keeping
the atomospher of the original, it revivies
the 80's with electronic sound and vocoder
by the robot who are almost out of order.
The album was also released (not confirmed
yet).

＜サトル特派員＞佐久間英夫さんの「テクノのススメ」でも紹介されています（p26）が、モンスーンの『Third
Eye 』（私が所有しているのは Great Expectations
というレーベルからリリースされている Made
In France盤のCD [PIPCD001]）というアルバムで「Tomorrow
Never Knows」をカバーしています。英国経由のインド系POP（ボーカルのシーラ・チャンドラはインド系英国人）です、。これがファーストアルバムだと思います。Bill
Nelsonが参加しています。後にSheila Chandraのソロ名義になってしまい、アンビエントな印象の『Quiet!』等、5枚のアルバムををリリース。現在はピーター・ガブリエルのReal
Worldからコンスタントにアルバムを発表しています。最近のサウンドはエレクトリック色を排した、かといって純粋インド音楽でもない、独自の路線で活動しています。1980年代当時、このシーラ・チャンドラが日本のサンディとデュエットする企画があるいう記事を雑誌で読んだことがあるのですが、実現したという話は聞いていません。
<Correspondent Satoru> The album "Third Eye" (mine is
CD [PIPCD001] on Great Expectation label
made in France) by Monsoon which was introduced
by "Techno No Susume" by Mr. Hideo
Sakuma covered "Tomorrow Never Knows".
It's Indian Pop via the U.K. (Sheila Chadra,
a vocalist, is Indian). I think this is their
first album. Bill Nelso supported this. Later,
she became solo under the name of Sheila
Chandora, and released Ambient-like five
album such as "Quiet!". She's still
releasing albums constantly on Real World
label by Peter Gabriel. The recent sound
is her own style that is not Electric, but
not pure Indian music. In the 80's, I read
the article saying that Sheila will duet
with Sandii in Japan, but I have not heard
anything afterwards.

幻の名盤『Warp』に収録。名カヴァーです。
This is contained in the illusive masterpiece
album "Warp". It's a superb cover!

『I Am The Walrus』はミュージシャンの中でビートルズのベストとされる曲です
"I Am The Walrus" was said to be
the best song of the Beatles among musicians.

ファースト・アルバムでは『ミート・ザ・ビートルズ』のジャケットをパロりましたが、ちゃんとカヴァーもしています。
They did a parody for "Meet The Beatles"
cover in their first album, and they also
covered the Beatles' song.

８８年のアルバム『プロヴィジョン』の後にリリースされたシングルですが、彼等の９０年代における貴重な作品。
This is the single released after the album
"Provision" in '88. It's their
valuable work in the 90's.
