本国の英国及び欧州ではそれなりの知名度があるみたいだが、日本ではあまり知られていません。８０年代中期より活動を開始したが、本格的な活動はロンドンのレイヴの動きに沿って８０年代末となる。サウンドは、ニュー・オーダー的な女性バックヴォーカル入りエレクトロ・ダンス・ポップである。私の好きなパターンにはまってます。ジョン・マーシュは英国のカウントダウンというテレビのクイズショウで準決勝まで残りました。現在は、ジョンと彼の妻ヘレナで活動しています。
＜KO氏からの情報＞THE BELOVEDですが、８８年にそれまでにインディででていた「WHERE
IT IS」と言うシングルコンピがでています。タイトルは。全１２曲収録で９曲は初期NEW
ORDERでおなじみのMICHAEL JOHNSONプロデュースで音もそれっぽくメジャーデビュー後よりもこちらの方がNEW
ORDERっぽくて好きです。
They have a certain level of popularity in
their home country England and Europe: however,
they are not well-known in Japan. They started
in mid 80's and they became active along
with London rave movement in end 80's. The
sound is New Order like electro dance pop
with female back vocal. This falls into the
pattern I love. Jon Marsh remained till the
semi final in the TV quiz show Countdown
in England. Currently, Jon and his wife Helena
work together.

It Is" containing their singles on an
indie label in '88. It contains 12 songs
in total and 9 songs are produced by Michaek
Johnson known for the early New Order works.
I like this better compared to the ones after
their debut on a major label as it sounds
more like New Order.
