好き嫌いに別れるがやはりブロンスキー・ビートの（コミュナーズも同様）売りはゲイであることをカミング・アウトしてるジミー・サマヴァイルのファルセット・ヴォイスである。ドナ・サマーのディスコ曲『アイ・フィール・ラヴ』は彼のヴォイスとシンセサウンドがうまく調和した名カヴァーである。その後サマヴァイルは脱退しリチャード・コールズと左翼派コミュナーズを結成しまたしても商業的には成功を収める。セルマ・ヒューストンの『Ｄｏｎ’ｔ　Ｌｅａｖｅ　Ｍｅ　Ｔｈｉｓ　Ｗａｙ』をカヴァーしいる。

While it is somewhat polarizing in preference, the selling point of Bronski Beat (Communards as well) is openly Gay, Jimmy Somerville's falsetto voice. Donna Summer's disco tune "I Feel Love" is covered excellently with his voice and synth sound. Later, Somerville left and formed left-winged Communards with Richard Coles. They did a cover of Thelma Houston's "Don't Leave Me This Way".
