ハウス、ディスコ、エレポップのいい所取りのようなサウンドを特徴とする90年代末からのムーヴメントと言ってもいいフレンチ・エレクトロ・シーン。フレンチ・フィルタード（単にフィルター）・ディスコ（又はハウス）とも呼ばれているみたいです。エレクトロ・リヴァイヴァルとも重なる部分が多いです。そして、Virgin Franceのアーティストが多いです。

French Electro scene can be described as movement taking all the good parts of House, Disco and Electro Pop from late 90's. It is also called as French Filtered (or simply Filter) Disco (or House). There are also overlaps with Electro Revival. And, there are many artists from Virgin France.

This is a very stylish Electronica Lounge Pop duo from France. Their debut album "Moon Safari" got attention around the world and they were on the front cover of British mangazine "FACE".

  B-52'sのFred Schneiderが参加。1曲目の『Satellite』は映画『Tomb Raider』のサントラに使用されている。

『Action』が日本盤としては初リリースですが、既にご本家フランスでは2枚のアルバムをリリース。少し下世話なところが憎めない、テクノポップ直系とも言えるフィルターディスコ。

While "Action" is their first release in Japan, they have released 2 albums in France. It's Filter Disco inheritating Techno Pop that has the taste for mass.

ある日、Benjamin Boguetという人からメールが来た。POP ACADEMYを見てくれたらしく、「I find your website great and interesting. Congrantulations! 」とのコメント。彼は、Cosmo Vitelliのプロモを送ってくれるとのありがたいオファー。そして、彼自身がCosmo Vitelliであることが後に判明。そして、そのプロモを聴いた僕は、完全にCosmo Vitelliに填まる。以前、「Fade To Grey」との関連を指摘した「Party Day」は、まったくもってキラー・チューン。凄い、ソングライティングの才能に圧倒される。

One day I received a mail from a person called Benjamin Boguet. He checked POP ACADEMY and told me "I find your website great and interesting. Congrantulations! ". He gave me an offer to send the promos of Cosmo Vitelli. Later, it was found he himself is Cosmo Vitelli. As I listened to the promos, I was totally addicted to Cosmo Vitelli. "Party Day" is an awesome killer tune which I pointed the relationship with "Fade To Grey". Super! I am so astonished by his songwrinting skills.

  邦題は「よく考えた！」と思える。『仕事は終わらない』の5ヴァージョンと『Aerodynamic』のリミックスの全6曲入りで30分を超える内容。とても、シンプルな曲ですが、よく出来ていています。意外かも知れませんが、Daft Punkと全盛期のELOに近いものを感じます。
  The Japanese title is well done. In total 6 tracks including 5versions of "Harder Faster Better Stronger" plus "Aerodymanics" remix. While it's a very simple tune, it's well crafted. Though it may not be agreed, I feel some similarity between Daft Punk and ELO at their peak time.

This is a French Techno unit who became popular before Air. 'Da Funk' is included in the soundtrack "The Saint". A half of the members released the hit single "Music Sounds Better With You" under the name of Stardust.

Grand Popo Football Club

  BoscoといいこのGPFCといいフランスが熱いですね。゛Daft Punk以降゛のフレンチ・エレクトロ・シーン（「フレンチ・タッチ」とライナーノーツでは総称されています。）の元気良さを感じさせてくれる二人組みです。フィルター・ディスコっぽい曲もありますが、どちらかと言えばキッチュなエレクトロ・リヴァイヴァル。Sparksが作詞・ヴォーカルで2曲参加しており、リヴァイヴァル趣味を実証しています。
  France is hot with this GPFC as well as Bosco. This duo makes me realize the liveliness of French Electro scene (introduced as "French Touch" in the linernotes") "After Daft Punk". While there are some Filter Disco-type tunes, it's more like Kitsch Electro Revival. Sparks joined for two songs with lyrics and vocal, and it proves the taste of Rivival.

現在のシーンにも繋がる初期フレンチ・ハウス（Les Rythmes Digitalesはイギリスですが…）集。ライナーによると1995年ごろから、小ムーヴメントとしてフレンチ・ハウスはスタートしたらしい。1996年には“Sound Of Paris”といった形容もされていた。

This is the collection of early French House (though Les Rythmes Digitales are from the U.K.) that is linked to the current scene. According to the liner notes, French House started as a small movement around 1995. It was also called as "Sound Of Paris" in 1996.

現在のフレンチ・エレクトロ・シーンを知る上で、とても便利なスナップショット的オムニバス。タイトルはKrafterwerkの「Tour de France」から来ているのでしょう。元Taxi GirlでMadonnaの「Music」のプロデューサー仕事が知られるMirwaisも参加。Visageの「Fade To Grey」（6曲目）やDee D Jacksonの「Automatic Lover」（13曲目）のネタ等もあります。

This is a snapshot omnibus album that is convenient to know the current French Electro scene. I guess the title came from "Tour de France" by Kraftwerk. Mirwais, ex-Taxi Girl known as a producer for Madonna's "Music". There are some materials using Visage's "Fade To Grey" (track 6) and Dee D. Jackson's "Automatic Lover" (track 13).

最初、Disk Unionの店頭で見たときは、Daft Punkのブートかと思いました。ジャケは、ファースト、セカンド・アルバムで使用されているDaft Punkのロゴが白黒コピーしてあるだけ。実の所、CLUBDAFTから限定リリースしているミックスCD-Rです。と言っても、DaftのアルバムではなくDaftとその仲間たちという感じのオムニバス形式です。ハロプロもこれやって欲しいです。

When I first saw this on the shelf of Disk Union, I thought it's a bootleg of Daft Punk. The sleeve design is just a black/white copy of Daft Punk logo used in their first and second albums. In fact, it is the limited mix CD-R released on CLUBDAFT. But, it is an omnibus album for Daft and their friends, not a Daft Punk's album. I want Hello Project! to do the same.

多くのフレンチ・タッチ系を抱えるVirgin Franceから出た、かなりお奨めのオムニバスです。ちょっと、上のオムニバスと被っているのが残念ですけど。ライナーノーツを読んでいると、この辺のフランスの人脈は繋がっているみたいですが、名称がコロコロ変わるのでかなりややこしい事になっています。2曲目のGuy-Manuel がBaffalo Bunch名義でリミックスをしたPhoenixの『If I Ever Feel Better』は、かなりはまります。

This is a highly recommended omnibus album released on Virgin France who owns quite a few French Touch artists. But, it's a bit pitty to have some overlaps with the album omnibus. Acoording to the liner notes, French artists around this scene are connected and quite complex as the names changed constantly. The second track, Phoenix's "If I Ever Feel Better" remixed by Guy-Mannuel under the name of Baffalo Bunch, is very addictive.
