    世間的にはあまり評価されていないけど、ソウルフルなエレポップ（ブラコンのJam & Lewisのプロデュース）は個人的に好きな１枚。

    久々にリリースされたHuman League。ジャケ写には、最近流行りみたいな丸坊主＋唇下髭のフィリップ・オーキーとジョアン＋スーザンが。サウンドは所々に今風のテクノも取り入れているが、やっぱりHuman Leagueと判るサウンド。決して悪くはない、でも何かが足りない。シングル・カットされた『All I Ever Wanted』はそこそこポップであるが、『Dare1』や『Crash』で見られた琴線に触れる部分が欠けているような。

Human Leagueはイギリス北部の工業都市シェーフィールドで１９７７年に結成された。最初の２枚のアルバムでは実験的要素が強かったが、後にHeaven 17を結成するMartin WareとIan Marsh脱退後、二人の女性ボーカルを加えエレクトリックABBAとも呼ばれるほどのバンドに変貌を遂げた。シングル『Don't You Want Me』、『Fascination』を含む『Dare』は全英チャート１位となり、全世界でブレイクした。個人的には、ヒット曲『Human』を含む『Crash』もすきである。私の好きなテクノなロマンス映画『Electric Dreams』では、Philip OakeyとGeorgio Moroderの『Together In Electric Dreams』、Heaven 17の『Chase Runner』が聞ける。

Human League was formed in Sheffield, the industrial city in northern England. The first two albums are more experimental while it made a drastic change to be called as Electric ABBA by adding two female vocals after Martyn Ware and Ian Marsh who later formed Heaven 17 left the band . The album "Dare" including "Don't You Want Me" and "Fascination" achieved the number 1 in the U. K. chart and broke out internationally. Personally, I also like the album "Crash" which includes the hit tune. "Human". In the techno-romance movie which I like, "Electric Dreams", you can hear "Together In Electric Dreams" by Philip Oakey and Giorgio Moroder and "Chase Runner" by Heaven 17.
