    ＜２０００年３月２３日に祝CD化！＞熱意と愛情を感じる再発シリーズ『NEO MODERN POP COLLECTION』がPOLYSTARよりリリース開始。第一弾はShi-Shonen、ImitationとEX。３枚中これだけは元々POLYSTAR音源（この後Kitty）ですね。ジャケがどっか違うとおもいましたら、ライナーを読んでその理由が解明できました。オリジナルを活かした２０００年版としてリニューアル。この時期IMITATIONも業界NEW WAVE（いいバンドが多いのに）としてあまり評価されなかったような気がしますが、こうして改めて聴くと無国籍ポップとして個性を感じます。貴重なポ−ナス音源２曲はとても嬉しいです。

    <CD reissue on March 23, 2000!> CD reissue series "NEO MODERN POP COLLECTION" made of passion and affection started to be released on Polystar. The first releases include Shi-Shonen, Imitation, EX. Among the three, this was originally released on Polystar (Kitty after that). I felt there is something different in the cover art, and understand the reason after reading the liner note. It was renewed as a 2000 version based on the original. At that time, I felt that Imitation was not highly appreciated as an Commercial New Wave (though there are many good bands), but I feel they own unique characteristics as Non-National Pop as I listen it again now. 2 valuable bonus tracks are pleasing.

イミテーションは元サディスティックス、サディスティック・ミカ・バンドの今井裕がチーボーをヴォーカルに結成されました。無国籍ニュー・ウェイヴなファーストアルバムでは加藤和彦をプロデューサーに迎え、セカンドではトーキング・ヘッズのメンバー、サンディ、久保田真琴をゲストに迎えました。ファースト・アルバムは香港逆輸入を歌い文句にしてましたが、香港ではうれたのでしょうか？ファーストのジャケットのチーボーの眉毛のない顔が印象的です。

＜荒特派員＞彼らの'85年夏の渋谷公会堂でのライヴは、最低動員記録を塗り替えたそうです（宝島別冊、ROCK FILEより）。Love Childはチーボーによる3人組バンドです。

Imitation was formed by Yu Imai formerly in Sadistics and Sadistic Mika Band featuring Cheebo as vocal. The first album featuring non nationality new wave sound had Kazuhiko Kato as producer and the second had Talking Heads' members, Sandii and Makoto Kubota as guests. The first album was claiming the reverse import from Hong Kong, but I wonder if it was sold well in Hong Kong. Cheebo's face with no eyebrow was striking.

<Correspondent Ara> Their live at Shibuya Kokaido in summer '85 made the record lowest number of audiences (according to Takarajima Extra Edition ROCK FILE). Love Child is a trio band by Cheebo.
