Tania Hayward という人の名がクレジットされています。PoliceのドラマーのStewart Copelandの兄であるMiles Copelandが設立したのがI.R.S.。帽子とサングラスのIRS（Internal Revenue Service−国税局）調査員のような男が、トレードマークです。I.R.S.のレーベルカラーは多様である。イギリスからアメリカまで、パンク、ニューウェイヴ、テクノポップ、オルタナ系とかなり幅が広い。
I.R.S. was founded by Miles Copeland, an elder brother of Stewart Copeland who is a drummer of the Police. An IRS (Internal Revenue Service) person is its trademark. I.R.S. is a label with multiple oritentations - from the U. K. to the U. S., and Punk, New Wave, Techno Pop, Alternative.
８１年にゴーゴーズに続けとばかり結成されたロス・エンジェルス出身のバングルズは８０年代後半にメージャー・ヒット・メーカーとなりました。

７８年ロサンジェルスで結成されたゴーゴーズは６０’Ｓポップをニュー・ウェイヴ的味付けをしたガールズ・バンドのお手本です。デビュー当時は結構芋ねえちゃんぽっかったですが、だんだん洗練されていきました。ベリンダ・カーライル（彼女のこぶしはいいぞ）は一時のブランクはあったが、ソロに転向後も成功している。でも、Jane Wieldlinが一番好き。彼女の「Rush Hour」は名曲です。
Go-Go's formed in Los Angles in 1978 is the Girls Band model with new wave-arranged 60's pop. At their debut, they looked pretty country girls, but they became refined as time goes. Berinda Carlisle is successful after she became solo while she had some blank period. But, Jane Wieldlin is my favorite. Her "Rush Hour" is a masterpiece.
アメリカ出身のライト・エレポップ（この表現は「人類レコード」で使われている）。最初は13人でスタートしたらしいが、3人組となった。「Afoot」に収録されている「Room With A View」は、エレクトロニックとアコースティクのブレンドの仕方が素晴らしい珠玉のポップ・チューン。
A Light Electro Pop (this term is used in "Jinrui Records") from the U. S. While they started with 13 members, they became a trio. "Room With A View" in the mini album "Afoot" is a fantastic gem of pop tune blending Electronic and Acounstic sound.

＜Chad A.特派員＞79年〜80年の間にIRSで数枚のシングルをリリースしたドイツ生まれのイギリス人。シングルはセルフタイトルのEPに収録されている。音楽はRed Noiseからそれほど遠くないコールドウェイヴとZolo（特に『Mutant』）の間を交差するシンセに頼ったもの。
<Correspondent. Chad. A> A German-born Brit who released several singles on IRS records between 79 and 80. The singles are collected on a self-titled EP. The music relies heavily on synths to create a cross between Cold Wave and Zolo (especially on "Mutant"), not far from Red Noise.
マツダという名前ですが、日本人でもなく（アメリカ人？）、マツダ自動車とも関係ないみたいです。I.R.S.のプロデューサーでもある人で、Alternative TV、The Fall、Wall Of Voodoo、Yello等を手掛けたらしい。Talking Headsの様なファンキーなNY New Waveサウンドです。
While his name is Mazda, he is not Japanese (American?) nor related to Mazda Automobile. He is also a producer on I.R.S., and produced Alternative TV, The Fall, Wall Of Voodoo, Yello, etc. It's Funky NY New Wave sound like Talking Heads.

R.E.M.とはRapid Eye Movementの略。現在も活動するアメリカン・オルタナ系長寿人気バンドであるが、デビュー当時はアメリカのThe Smithsといった感じであった。
R.E.M. means Rapid Eye Movement. While they're a still active and long-life popular American Alternative band, they were like an American version of the Smiths during the early days.
＜Goutからの情報＞７９年ごろの偉大なロスエンジェルス出身のニューウェイヴ・バンド。とても特異な女性ヴォーカルの４人組で、Rezillos（英国出身）に似通っている。Suburban Lawnsは解散するまでにIRSレコードから１枚のEPと１枚のフルアルバムをレコーディングしました。ヴィデオが製作されたのはMTVでほとんどエア・プレイされなかった「Janitor」だけです。
<Info. from Gout> Great Los Angeles New Wave band, circa 1979. A four-piece with very unique female vocals - they sound similar to the Rezillos (from the UK). Suburban Lawns only recorded 1 EP and one proper album on IRS Records before breaking up. The only video they made was for the song "Janitor" - shown very rarely on MTV2.

<Mr. knihei> I met Torch Song when I saw the promotion clip on MTV about 12 years ago by accident. Their sound is a little more pop "Propaganda" at the debut. 'White Night' is especially cool. While most of productions were done by William Orbit, Tania Hayward was credited as Assistant Engineer.
