＜サトル特派員＞まるでベストの様な選曲ですが、それもそのはず、昨年行った1年半にわたるツアーの時のメンバーでレコーディングされた物の様です。過去のヒット曲もエレクトロニクス色は後退していて、ライブ用アレンジなのかバンドっぽいサウンドです。新曲も入っているようですが・・・ブラスセクションも生です。ベース＆スティック奏者のニック・ベッグスは元Kaja

<Correspondent Satoru> It's almost like the best compilation. It's
because recording was done with the tour
members which he played with for 18 months
last year. The past hit tracks have less
Electronic sound, and more like band sound
which seems to be for live arrangement. There
are some new takes, too. Blass section is
also acoustic. Nick Beggs on bass and stick
is ex-Kaja (googoo).

過去のヒット曲をアコースティック＋ホーン・セクションをより強調したバンド・サウンドでリメイク。『peforrm.00』と同じメンバーです（というか、このアルバム自体、『perform.00』の日本版なのかも。）当時のハワード・ジョーンズを知っている人にとっては、ちょっと物足りない気がしますが、出来がいいオリジナルですから十分聴けます。最後の『What
Is Love?』だけはこのアルバムでは異色で、Trouser
Enthusiastによるクラブ・リミックス。
The paster hit singles were remade with band
sound emphasizing Acoustic and Horn secion.
The same members as "perform.00"
(or this album itself may be a Japanese version
of "performa.00".) It's a little
unsufficient for the people who know Howard
Jones at his peak, but you can still enjoy
listening as the originals are great. The
last track "What Is Love?" is different
from the rest in this album, and it's a club
remix by Trouser Enthusiast.

ハワード・ジョーンズはとてもポジティヴなワン・マン・エレクトロポップ・シンガー・ソング・ライターです。ヒット曲『New
Song』、『What Is Love?』を含むデビューアルバム『Human's
Lib』は全英チャート１位を達成しました。『Dream
Into Action』では『No One Is To Blame』という優れたエレクトロ・ポップ・バラードを送り込みアメリカに於いても成功を収めました。ちょっと残念なことに、その後のアルバムはポップ性は高いもののエレクトロからアコースティックにシフトして行きました。1996年の『Live
Acoustic America』はそれを象徴している。なお、ハワードは７０年代にWarriorというインスト・プログレ・バンドで活動しました。
Howard Jones is a very positive one-man Electro
Pop singer song writer. "Human's Lib",
Howard Jones' debut album including hit tunes
like "New Songs" and "What
Is Love?" reached the top 1 in the U.
K. chart. He also made success in the U.
S. with "Dream Into Action" including
"No One Is To Blame", superb electro
pop ballad. It is a little pity that his
albums after them shifted from electro to
more acoustic while it is still pop. "Live
Acoustic America" in 1996 is symbolic
for his shift. Howard acted in an instrumental
Progressive Rock band called "Warriors"
in 70's.
