20 ELECTRIC HITSとジャケに書いてありますが、トラックリストからも判りますように、玉石混合。歌うサラリーマンRobert Palmerのこの曲は、超エレポップです。Gibson Brothersって知りませんが、「Metropolis」って変なテクノポップ。
While the cover says 20 ELECTRIC HITS, it's the mixture of jewels and stones as you can tell from the track list. The track by Robert Palmer, a singing business man, is a super Electronic Pop. While I don't know about Gibson Brothers, "Metropolis" is a strange Techno Pop.

Blitzと表記していますが、zは本当はsのミラーイメージです。Blitzとはイギリスの当時のNew Waveクラブの名前だと思います。このRCAからリリースされたコンピレーションはイギリス及びイギリスでも活動したアメリカのNew Waveバンドを集めています。なんと言っても聞き所はLandscapeのRichard James Burgess率いるShockのニューロマ炸裂の「Angel Face」です。今聴いてもメチャクチャかっこＥ～です。他にもマイナー系New Wave充実のお勧めの１枚。
While I spelled Blitz, z is mirror image of s. I think Blitz is the name of New Wave club in the U. K. at that time. <Correspondent Ara.> The compilation with nice selection beyond the lables such as Island, Virgin, Arista, Chrysalis, ZE, Celluliod. They are occupied with the tracks released in '80 to '82. While there are some known tracks, simple Electro Pop Ami Marie, Funky Was (Not Was), minimul and acid DAF intrustrumetal are first time to hear. A good bargain. Vol. 1 includes OMD, Devo, etc.

Illuminated Recordsというインディー・レーベルによるレーベル・コンピ。ジャケはインダストリアルっぽいですが、ゴシック、インダストリアル、エレポップ、ファンキーなリズムのニューウェイヴとかなり多彩なバンドが収録されています。Dataの『Blow』は、Art Of Noiseを思わせるもだえ声いりの上質エレポップ。
This is a label compilation on Illuminated Records, an indie label. While the cover art is a bit Industrial, it contains variety of bands from Gothic, Industrial, Electro Pop and New Wave with funky rhythme. "Blow" by Data is a quality Electro pop with erotic voice reminding the Art Of Noise.

<Correspondent Chad A.> From Russia. This comp came out in the US in '86, but the songs were recorded earlier on in the 80's. The bands are Aquarium, Kino, Alisa, and Strange Games. They get 6 songs each, or one side of each 12". Strange Games put out an album, "Leningrad" on the British/Yugoslav Points East label. They play RIO-styled Avant-Rock, Zolo, and Ska.

This is the omnibus from German Electrola collecting 12" singles which I bought in Frunkfurt's Virgin Mega some time ago. The selection is quite good.

<Correspondent Satoru> This was released on Polygram (TV 525 435-2). It is different from the soundtrack one just in case. Most of them are major which may be too obvious for the people who visit this HP. But, the selection is kind of cool. It would be good young person's guide to 80's Electro Pop.

半分以上は、マイナーまたは超マイナーなアーティストで構成されたエレポップ（中には怪しいのもあるけど）ドイツのオムニバスです。特に９０年代物は未発売物も含みいまいち実態がつかめませんが、いいコレクションです。ロンドンのタワーレコードで買いました。
This is German-made Electro Pop (though some are a little questionable) Omnibus consisting of minor or ultra-minor artists. It is hard to grasp the 90's including unreleased tracks, but it is a good collection. I bought it at Tower Record in London.

ドイツ語でライナーが書かれているので、はっきりと分かりませんが、STAR TREKをテーマにしたオムニバスのようです。といっても、STAR TREKのテーマ曲が入っているわけでもない。宇宙に関連する曲が多いみたいですが。HI-NRG、エレポップ、ハードコア・テクノ、ハウス、ブレークビーツ等幅広いジャンルからの選曲です。ＴＲＥＫＫＩＥとしても知られるS.P.O.C.K.が収録されているのは当然ですね。
While I cannot understand well as it's written in Germany, it seems the omnibus album with the theme of STAR TREK. But, they are not necessarily the theme songs of STAR TREK. Many of the tracks seem to be related to space. It was compiled from a wide range of genre such as HI-NRG, Electro Pop, Hard Core Techno, House, Breakbeats, etc. It's quite natural that S.P.O.C.K. known as Trekkie is included here.

このオムニバスはユーロヴィジョンと言う由緒あるコンテスト優勝曲（俗に深夜番組名からユーロ・トラッシュと呼ばれる）を集めた企画の勝利と言える超優秀カヴァーものです。ピチカートの小西康陽氏が「ユーロ・トラッシュ」とは何ぞやと解説している。それは、「ロック・ジェネレーションとかクラブ・ピープルとか、カウンター・カルチャー側にいる（と思っている）ヨーロッパの人間には恥ずかしくて死にたくなるような、オジさんオバさん、それにダサイ連中がパブか午後のＴＶか村の祭で聴いている音楽。」らしい。ダサイと思われているものもオチャめなのりでやるとカッコよくなるというモンド的展開であります。ダブスターの『夢見るシャンソン人形』とバナナラマ（シボーンが帰ってきた！）の『恋のウォータールー』は特に光っています。
This omnibus album is ultra-excellent covering the winning songs from historic contest called Eurovision (so called Euro trash from the name of midnight TV program) that is a triumph of planning. Pizzicato's Yasuharu Konishi explains what "Euro Trash" is. He said "It's the type of music which European (they think) at the counter culture side like rock generation and club people are so ashamed of to death, and old men and women and uncool people listen to at pubs, on afternoon's TV programs or village festivals. It is a mondo-type development that uncool things become cool when they are done in a kitsch fashion. Dubstar's "Poupee De Cire, Poupee De Son" and Bananarama's (Siobhan is back!) "Waterloo" are especially sparkling.

I got this amazing 8 CD box set at $35 at Fun Records. It's a very good buy. The only pitty thing is no description on the tracks. * is marked for the ones with high level of Electro Pop - New Wave (including just Electro-arranged Pop tunes and proper Eurobeat). ヒースロー空港でポンドが残っていたので買ったコンピですが、メジャーなものにマイナーも混じって結構面白いコンピです。ミュート、ベガーズ・バンケット、スティッフなどのインディー系レーベルのアーティストを集めたからそうなったのでしょう。
This is the compilation which I bought because I had left-over pounds at Heathrow Airport. It is a pretty interesting compilation having minor ones with some major ones. I guess it became so because they complied indie lables such as Mute, Beggars Banquet, Stiff Records.

Stiff Records is a British early New Wave label starting from mid-70's. While I could call New Wave, it includes a wide variety of pop Punk such as The Plasmatics, Pub Rock such as Nick Lowe, 60's Girl Pop Revival such as Tracey Ullman, Kirsty MacColl, Modern Pop such as The Rumour. It's very British. This is a nice compilation including rare tracks on Metro (Union Square Music) licencing from Stiff.
