of Body Experience』が発表されています。今回の参加メンバーは中西俊夫、工藤昌之、GOTA、アンドリュー・ヘイル（シャーデー＆スウィートバック）です。

＜荒特派員＞TRAスペシャル『HOMEWORK』というカセットがTOSHIO
NAKANISHI名義で出ています。ミュージック・マガジンの84年5月号では、「中西俊夫流・おもしろ手作りサウンドの秘訣」と題して、８ページにわたってこのカセット制作に関する特集が組まれています。また、中西氏は、他にもLOVE
T.K.O.、スカイラブ、シルバーアークスなどのバンドでもアルバムを出しています。もっと詳しい人いないかな。

May '84 issue talked about the production
of this cassette tape in 8 pages titled as
"Toshio Nakanishi Style Interesting
Manual Sound Secret". Mr. Nakanishi

The d.e.pとは、doggy eels projectの略。つまり異種混合的うなぎ犬的プロジェクト。うなぎ好きのビビアンがうなぎみたいですね？先行シングル「Mr.
No Problem」を聴く限りでは、NiNaよりはニューウェイヴ感があって良いのでは。ただ、ビビアンを除くメンバーは凄いので、期待が高くなりすぎますね。でもビビアンの方が、YUKIより好きです。
The d.e.p stands for doggy eels project.
In the other word, it's a project like doggy
eels that combines something totally different.
Is Vivian who loves to eat eels an eel? As
far as I listen to the single "Mr. No
Problem", it's better than NiNa with
more New Wave drive. However, the expectation
gets too high because of all the members
except Vivian. But, I like Vivian better
than Yuki.
日本より先行して英国のラフ・トレードから７９年にシングル『COPY/ROBOT』でレコード・デビュー果たした。佐藤（三愛のスタイリスト）、中西（イラストレーター）、立花（グラフィックデザイナー）、佐久間（元四人囃子）、島（作詞家）の異業種集団である。元々はパンク的パーティー・バンドであったが、佐久間のプロデュース力量に支えられリズム・ボックスを導入しテクノポップ化した。ピコピコサウンドといえばプラスチクッスのアイコンである。ヘタウマ的カッコ良さで人気を得たが、８１年に解散し８８年に一度一時的な再結成をした。佐藤と中西（夫婦）はクラブ系バンドのメロンを結成し、通称ピテカンことピテカントロプス・エレクトスを活動の拠点としクラブ・シーンをもりあげた。立花は￥ＥＮレーベル～MIDIでのソロ、佐久間はＧＬＡＹ、ジュディマリ、ストレイのプロデューサー等、各々の才能を生かし独自の活動している。また、佐久間と島はジュディマリのユキ、B-52'sのKate
Pierson、サポートとして元JAPANのミックカーン、セッション・アーティストのスティーヴン・ウルフとの超豪華ユニット、NiNaを結成し、９９年夏にシングル「Happy
Tomorrow」を発表した。
＜オクダケンゴ特派員＞プラスチックス成立過程についての追加情報。７６年に中西俊夫、立花ハジメ、佐藤チカの三人が６人編成の第１期プラスチックスを結成。その後、中西、ハジメ、チカの三人は元四人囃子の佐久間正英と元テンプターズの大口広司を誘い第２期プラスチックスを結成するが、すぐに大口が脱退。新たに島武実を加えたおなじみのメンバーによる第３期プラスチックスは７８年秋に活動開始。
＜荒特派員＞88年に発売されたという江口寿史（Comics参照）のイラスト集があって（タイトル不明）、ハジメ氏は装丁を担当していたんですが、そのイラスト集には「Mr.
EGUCHI'S BENEFIT LIVE AT HINOMARU THEATER」という１２インチ・レリーフ・レコードが付いていて、「GO!
GO! PIRATES」(立花ハジメ作曲）と、「NO MATTER」（DEVOのマークが作曲）の２曲が収録されていたそうなんです。これはかなりレアだと思うんですが、お持ちの方はいらっしゃるのでしょうか・・・・?
They made a record debut with the single
"Copy/Robot" from Rough Trade in
England ahead of Japan. They are the unit
with different expertise; Sato (Stylist in
San-ai), Nakanishi (Illustrator), Tachibana
(Graphic Designer), Sakuma (formerly in Yonin-Bayashi
- Progressive Rock Band), Shima (Song Writer).
They were originally Punk Party band and
transformed to Techno Pop with the introduction
of rhythm box thanks to production ability
by Sakuma. Pico-Pico sound its the icon of
Plastics. While they got popularity with
Low-Skill High-Sense, they disbanded in '81
and reunited temporarily in '88. Sato and
Nakanishi (a married couple) formed Melon,
Club sound band and promoted Club scene located
at Pithecan Thropus known as "Pithecan".
Tachibana was performing as solo in \EN Label
and MIDI. Sakuma is active as producer for
Glay, Judy And Mary and Stray. Each is pursuing
their own activity using their talents. Sakuma
and Shima also formed a super deluxe unit
called "NiNa" together with Judy
And Mary's Yuki, B-52's Kate Pierson with
additional support by Mick Karn of ex. Japan
and Steven Wolf known as a session artist
and they released the single "Happy
Tomorrow".
<Correspondent Kengo Okuda> Additional information on the process of
Plastics formation. In '76, Toshio Nakanishi,
Hajime Tachibana and Chika Sato formed the
first phase Plastics consisting of six members.
Later, Nakanishi, Hajime and Chika formed
the 2nd phase Plastics by inviting Masahide
Sakuma of ex Yonin Bayashi and Hiroshi Ohguchi
of ex Tempters, but Ohguchi left quickly.
They started the 3rd phase Plastics which
is familiar to us in Fall '78 by adding Takemi
Shima newly.

<Correspondent Ara> There is an illustration book (title unknown)
by Hisahi Eguchi (pls. refer to Comics), and its cover art was done by Mr. Tachibana.
I heard that this book contained 12"
disc "Mr. Eguchi's Benefit Live At Hinomaru
Theather" containing "Go! Go! Pirates"
(composed by Hajime Tachibana) and "No
Matter" (composed by Mark in Devo).
I think it's quite rare, and wonder if anyone
has it.
