Ralph Records is an American avant-garde, weird and strange label started by the Residents, an anonymous group in '72. It can be regarded as an origin of Indie label using the methods such as limited sales, mail order. "Hm" by Hajime Tachibana was released on it. ザ・レジデンツは正体不明のタクシードを着た目玉おやじ集団である。ザ・レジデンツはメジャー・レーベルから相手にされなかったのでみづから自らラルフ・レコードを設立し作品を発表していく。デビュー・シングル『Santa Dog』をザッパやニクソン大統領に勝手に送っていた。石野卓球氏は人生時代勝手に作品をザ・レジデンツに送っていたらしい。ラルフ・レコードはスネーク・フィンガー、タクシード・ムーン、アート・ベーアズ、イエロー等のストレンジ系アーティストの作品をリリースしている。カルト系テクノ・バンドのルーツである。
The Residents are the group of unidentified eyeball-men with tuxedos. The Residents established Ralph Record and released their works from it as no major record labels accepted them. They sent out the debut single "Santa Dog" to Zappa and President Nixon. Takkyu Ishino sent out his works to the Residents when he was in Zin-Say. Ralph Record released the works by Strange artists such as Snakefinger, Tuxedo Moon, Art Bears, Yello. They are the root of Cult Techno bands.

スネークフィンガーことPhilip Lithmanはレジデンツはスネークフィンガーとの出合いから始まったと言われる程の存在である。元Chilli Willi And The Red Hot Peppersというパブロック・バンドで活動。７９年には、The Residents & Snakefinger名義でシングル「Nibbles」をヴァージンからリリース。Kraftwerkの「The Model」もカヴァーしています。87年にツア−中に他界。
Philip Lithman also known as Snakefinger is a person who was said that the Residents started by meeting Snakefinger. He played in a Pub Rock band called "Chilli Willi And The Red Hot Peppers". In '79, he released the single "Nibbles" as the Residents & Snakefinger on Virgin Records. He covered "The Model" by Kraftwerk. He passed away during the tour in '87.

This is an electro experimental pop unit like a younger brother of the Residents. They were formed in San Francisco City University in '77, and they moved to Brussels where Crepuscule and Crammed Discs are based with stronger European aestheticism. Blaine L. Reininger who is a core member released at least 4 albums. Winston Tong also released solo albums produced by Alan Rankine, ex-Associates.

Yello is an electro dance duo consisting of Meier, a signer who was also a billionaire and professional gambler and Blank, a song writer. They debuted from the Residents' Ralf Record in 1980 and the single "Bostisch" was well accepted. Later they released the albums by having Shirley Bassey and Billy McKenzie as guest.
