サロン・ミュージックは渋谷系以前のバンドですが、フリッパーズ・ギター等のプロデューサーとして渋谷系の黒幕となり、又自らコーネリアスのトラットリア・レーベルに移籍したので、プロト渋谷系としました。８２年に英国フォノグラムからデビューしました。８４年のアルバム『ラ・パロマ・ショウ』は高橋幸宏にプロデュースされムーンライダーズのメンバーのサポートも得ています。また、ホンダのＣＲ−Ｘの宣伝で彼等の曲が使われてました。９０年代を予見するような古さを全然感じさせないキュート路線です。吉田仁氏はピンクの岡野ハジメ氏とQuadraphonics、竹中仁見さんはSEX（サロンがプロデュース）の朝倉光洋とSilver Finsという別ユニットでも活動。サイバーパンクの大御所としられる米国人作家ブルース・スターリング氏はサロン・ミュージックの熱烈的な支持者であり、『ラ・パロマ・ショウ』の再発CDのライナーを書いている。

Salon Music is the band before Shibuya-K, but I decided to classify them as proto-Shibuya-Sytle as they produced Shibuya-style artists such as Flipper's Guitar, and moved to Trattoria label by Cornelius. They debuted from British Phonogram in '82. Their album in '84 "La Paloma Show" was produced by Yukihiro Takahashi with the support from the members of Moon Riders. Their song was used for the TV commercial of Honda's CR-X. It's a cute music predicting 90's and still refreshing today. Mr. Zin Yoshida played as Quadraphonics with Mr. Hajime Okano of Pink and Ms. Hitomi Takenaka played as Silver Fins with Mitsuhiro Asakura of SEX (produced by Salon). Mr. Bruce Sterling, an American writer known as an authority of Cyber Punk is a passionate supporter of Salon Music and he wrote a line note in the reissued CD "la paloma show".
