    BMGから"ETERNAL BEST 80's"というシリーズで出ていたもの。89年のベストは10曲入りという結構貧弱なものであったが、こちらは17曲入り。改めて聴いてみると、テクノでエスノでファンクで3拍子揃ったいいユニットだったと思います。このアルバムにも収録されている「Nothing In Common」は元BugglesのGeff Downesがプロデュースしたシングル。映画「恋のじゃま者」のタイトル曲でもある。

トンプソン・ツインズの名前の由来は「ティン・ティンのハージの冒険」の漫画のキャラから来る。1984年の『イントゥ・ザ・ギャップ』（米国プラチナアルバム）に収録される『ホールド・ミー・ナウ』、『ドクター！ドクター！』のヒットでブレイクした。少し民族っぽいダンスポップに郷愁を覚える人も多いのではなかろうか。1993年には突然バブルと改名しよりテクノなダンスバンドになりました。

＜Chikahiro Masamiさん＞ベルギーのエルジュ(Herge はフランス語読み) が描いた「タンタンの冒険」(The Adventure of Tintin) という漫画に出てくる、双子の刑事 トムソン と トンプソンからきています。もっとも、トムソン と トンプソンは 英語版での名前で、日本語訳では、原語の フランス語 に近い デュポン刑事 と デュボン刑事 という名前です。

Thompson Twins's band name came from the cartoon character "Herge's Adventure of Tin Tin". They broke out with the hit singles of "Hold Me Now" and "Doctor! Doctor!" included in "Into The Gap" in 1984 (U. S. platinum album). There may be many people who remember them with a little ethno-taste dance pop. They renamed Buggle suddenly in 1993 and they became a more techno dance band.
