Light』型のリード・シンセとヴォコーダーを加えている。『When
It Rains』は、デトロイト/シェフィールド系にKraftwerkのクラシック・シンセとクラシック・Foxx『Automobile』〜デトロイト系『Buring
Car』をミックス。『The Falling Room』は、Gordonのシェフィールド系テクノに、ほとんどFoxxのサイケデリア。『Travel』は、クラッシクなKraftwerkっぽい。『Quiet
City』は、このアルバムの最後を飾るクレシェンドなシンセ。
<Correspodent Adam J Short> This latest release by John Foxx and Louis
Gordon was released in the UK in February
2002, although it may have been available
elsewhere as early as September 2001. John
and Louis keep the "Metamatic"
feel going after the excellent "Shifting
City" album. The cover features the
"Headless Suit" artwork from Metamatic
and it is obvious that John has been reading
Ballard and listening to "Trans Europe
Express" again. This is a classic, but
definitely not dated.
"A Funny Thing" resembles Everything
But the Girls "Missing" but with
Bowie on Vocals. "Nightlife" is
classic Sheffield techno like "Shifting
City". "Camera" has Kraftwerk(TEE)
style Vocoders: a "Neon Lights"
style ballad which crescendos in Gordon's
staccato synth bass and Johns multi layered
choral pads. "Invisible Women":
bliss: this sent shivers down my spine: it
is the reply to "No-one Driving",
the same synth string riff with the same
sound sample, but a little more "Shifitng
City" orientated. "Cities of Lights"
back to a cross between "Shifiting City"
and "Neon Lights". "Uptown/Downtown"
Classic Foxx intro with CR78, add "Neon
Lights" type lead synth and Vocoder.
"When it Rains" is Detroit/Sheffield
style, mix Kraftwerk classic synths and classic
Foxx. "Automobile": Detroit style
"Burning Car". "The Falling
Room" almost Foxx Psychedelia but with
Gordons Sheffield style techno. "Travel"
classic Kraftwerk TEE style. "Quiet
City" is a crescendo synths highlite
to end this album.

ウルトラヴォックスは、ジョン・フォックスを中心とした第一期（『システム・オブ・ロマンス』迄）、元リッチ・キッズのミッジ・ユーロ加入後の第二期（『ヴィエナ』以降）、ビリー・カーリーがトニー・フェネルと再結成した第三期に分かれる。第一期、第二期とも評価は高いが、商業的成功は、第二期に迎える。アルバムタイトルともなったシングルカット、『ヴィエナ』は全英２位になった。エレクトロ機器を駆使した重厚なサウンドで人々を魅了した。ミッジはまたバンド・エイド・プロジェクトの中心的存在で、『Do
They Know It's Christmas?』をボブ・ゲルドフと共作した。個人的には『We're
The World』より数倍よいと思う。クリス・クロスは元ストーン・ローズ（ストーン・ローゼズではありません）というバンドにいました。

Up And Walk』以前にリリースしました。スティーヴ・ハウ（イエスとエイジアのギタリスト）が参加し、８８年にイリーガル・レコードからリリース。私の個人的なお気に入りです。
＜荒特派員＞Nation 12はジョン・フォックスがやってたユニットです。12インチを2枚出してます。あまりおもしろくない（ジョン・フォックスらしさは全然ない）ブレイク・ビーツものです。
Faith Globalは初期ウルトラヴォックスのギタリストだったスティーヴ・シェアーズがジェイソン・ガイと結成したユニット。サックスで参加したDuncan
Kilburnは元サイケデリック・ファーズの人。「もしや」と思い、ちょっと気になって邪外さんのページ見たら、既に載ってました。なんとジャケ写付きで。邪外さん、スティーヴ・シェアーズびいきだから。でも、NATION
12は載ってない・・・。五分五分ですな。Survival
Recordsのオムニバスにも収録の「Forgotten
Man」はアルバム・ヴァージョンとは別ヴァージョンだそうで、後藤次利ばりのチョッパー・ベースびんびんの、ディスコ調エレ・ポップといった感じ。

Points』）やSurvivalレコードのThirteen At
Midnightをプロデュース。

Ultravox has three periods; the first period
centered by John Foxx (before "System
Of Romance"), the second period after
Midge Ure, ex-Rich Kids joined (after "Vienna")
and the third period reunited by Billy Currie
and Tony Fenel. Both the first and second
period are highly regarded while commercial
success was achieved during the second period.
"Vienna", a single from the same
titled album, reached top 2 in U. K. chart.
They attracted people with thick sound fully
utilizing electro instruments. Midge also
played a primary role for Band Aid project
and he co-wrote "Do They Know Its' Christmas?"
with Bob Geldoff. I personally think it is
several times better than "We're The
World". Chris Cross used to be in the
band called Stone Rose (not, Stone Roses).
<Slan, a Ultravox site owner> Billy Currie has released another solo album
before "Stand up and walk". It's
called "Transportation", Steve
Howe (guitarist of Yes and Asia) appears
in it, it was released in 1988 by Illegal
Records, and it's my personal favourite.
<Correspondent Ara> Nation 12 is a unit led by John Foxx. Two
12" single were released. It's not very
interesting Breakbeats type (not like John
Foxx at all).
Faith Global is a unit formed by Steve Shears,
a guitarist of early Ultravox!, with Jason
Guy. Duncan Kilburn who appeared as a sax
player is ex-Psychedelic Furs. As I checked
out Ultravox Station, there is already the information on this
with the cover art. I know Mr. JAGE is a
supporter of Steve. But, there is no information
on Nation 12. Break-even. "Forgotten
Man" that was also included in Survival
Records omnibus album is different from the
album version, and it's like Discotique Electro
Pop with chopper bass like Tsugutoshi Goto.
