七つ星とは、中山忍、河田純子、田山真美子（以上3人で楽天使）、山本京子、加藤貴子、吉村夏枝（以上3人でLIP'S）、そしえ宍戸留美の七人からなるアイドル・ユニットです。清水信之や鷺巣詩郎等が編曲陣としてとてもいい仕事しています。アイドル歌謡というより、ガールポップ歌謡として十分楽しめます。聴き所は、宍戸留美『銀河でクリスマス』、田山真美子『1990年12月24日』等です。
Nanatsuboshi is a 7-piece idol unit consisting of Shinobu Nakayama, Junko Kawada, Mamiko Tayama (Rakutenshi), Kyoko Yamamoto, Takako Kato, Natsue Yoshimura (LIP'S), and Rumi Shishido. Arrangers such as Nobuyuki Shimizu, Shiro Sagisu did very nice works. You can enjoy this as Girl Pop Kayo rather than Idol Kayo. The recommended tracks are Rumi Shishido's "Ginga De Christmas", Mamiko Tayama's "Dec. 24th, 1990". etc.

Midge UreとBob Geldoffによるクリスマス・ソングの８０年代定番です。Trevor Hornもプロデュース、リミックスに参加。豪華英国ポップ・ロック・アーティスト達の夢の共演です。イギリスのバンド・エイドにならい、アメリカではＵＳＡ・フォー・アフリカ（『We Are The World』ってタイトルからしてアメリカ的）、ドイツではバンド・フォー・アフリカ（ネーナ、アルファヴァイル、トリオ等参加）がエイド・プロジェクトとして興されました。確か日本でも何かやってた様な。
This is the 80's standard of X'mas song by Midge Ure and Bob Geldoff. Trevor Horn produced and remixed it. It's a dreamy collaboration of deluxe British pop and rock artists. Following British "Band Aid", the U. S. established "USA For Africa" (the title "We Are The World" is VERY American.) and German also did "Band For Africa (Nena, Alphaville, Trio, etc.) as aid projects. I vaguely recall something was going on in Japan, too.

＜Captain Sensibleの大ファンのnr8＞リリースは最初７"シングルでA&Mより1984年です。所有しているのは12"ですが、７"と同じです。彼のA&M時代のベスト盤ともいえる『Sensible Singles』にも収録されています。12"には「One～」の後「Relax（FGTHのカヴァー）」がA面に、B面には「Pocketful Of Dosh」と「Wendy! Where's My Snaps?」が入っています。ジャケットが笑うCaptainの顎髭が白いスポンジになっているという3Dのスゴイものです。音的には粗いサンプリングを多用したTony Mansfieldのいわゆるエレポップが「One～」と「Relax」でB面は彼のその後のアルバムで聞かれるようなギター＆コンセプトアルバムの中の曲という感じです。
<nr8 who is a big fan of Captain Sensible> The first release was 7" single from A&M in 1984. I own 12", but it is the same as 7". It was included in "Sensible Singles" that is his best compilation during his A&M days. 12" include "Relax (cover of FGTH)" after "One..." in A side and "Pocketful Of Dosh" and "Wendy! Where's My Snaps?" in B side. The cover art is fantastic 3D with laughing Captain's beard made of white sponge. "One..." and "Relax" are Tony Mansfield kind of Electro Pop with lots of rough sampling, and B-side are like the tracks in guitar & concept albums that we can listen to in his later productions.

これは日本のための曲なのでしょうか？歌詞に『First light of Christmas in Japan』とあります。
＜竹下氏＞この曲、私には理由がわからないのですが、ＢＥＳＴ盤のＣＤには確かに日本向きに歌っている曲が収録されているのですが、ＬＰだとタイトルは同じなのに歌詞も曲も全く別のバージョンが収録されており、こちらの方が素晴らしいのです。Korgisといえば、James Warrenのクリスマスアルバム(１９９５年の収録らしいですが）もリリースされました。ビートルズやビーチ・ボーイズのオリジナルに忠実なカバーも愛情たっぷりで素晴らしい内容です。
Is this a song specially for Japan? It sings "First light of Christmas in Japan".
<Mr. Takeshita> The song made for Japan was contained in the best compilation CD though I do not why. In the LP, a totally different take was contained though the title is the same, and this version was even better. Talking about the Korgis, James Warren's Christmas album (recorded in 1995) was also released. It is excellent containing the tracks covering the Beatles and Beach Boys in a faithful way following the originals with affection.

The CD version is included as a bonus track of "Meet The Residents" in 1988. Different versions of "Fire" were made as "Santa Dog '78", "'84", "'88", "'92" and "'92". While I haven't gotten it yet, Mark of Devo released the X'mas album in 1999.

The Japanese song was titled as"Christmas With Tears~Warmth Of Love" with the expectation that it can be sold more with more emphasis on the title with Christmas. As I listen carefully, there is Christmas in the lyrics.

ZE RECORDSのクリスマス・アルバム。８１年に初回リリースされたようですが、８２年の改良版とされるものです。お勧めはWAS兄弟がプロデュースしたクリスチーナの「Things Fall Apart」とSpice Girlsが後にカヴァーするへなへな脱力感のThe Waitressesの「クリスマス・ラッピング」。

This is a Chirsmas album on ZE Records. This is an improved 1982 version after the first release in 1981. What I recommend are Cristina's "Things Fall Apart" produced by WAS Bros., and The Waitresses' cheapy and powerless "Christmas Wrapping" that Spice Girls covered later.

米国の再発専門レーベルRHINOの『just can't get enough』というNEW WAVEのオムニバス・シリーズの１５版です。NEW WAVE というにはちょっと怪しいのもありますが、Three Wise MenとCaptain Sensibleのクリスマス・ソングははお勧めです。

This is vol. 15 of New Wave omnibus series called "just can't get enough" on RHINO, an American label for reissue. While there are some tracks hard to be called as New Wave, X'mas songs by Three Wise Men and Captain Sensible are recommended tunes.
